Our students hail from all around the world and have all ended up in a lovely little corner of Brooklyn NY. We've got kids from China, Guatemala, Yemen, Bangladesh, Egypt and even such far aways lands as Queens! They've got tons of personality, big dreams that perfectly fit our big city, and a love for telling their stories and sharing their thoughts. We work hard to give the students a safe place to come and be creative. We've found that allowing students to experience current events as journalists and reporters is more engaging and exciting than simply handing them a news article to recap. At 229, THEY are telling the story. THEY are reporting the news. Our job is to teach them how to research, how to report fairly without bias, and how use the (very expensive) gear provided by our school and our amazing PTA.

About my class
