Hands on learning for students is a vital part of their success in understanding the key concepts of science. Science in a lecture format for students can often times be disinteresting and not help them understand the concept in which they are learning. That is why I am asking you to fund my project. This project will help students see visually the concept of earthquakes and how plates shift by watching the earthquake unfold right in front of them. This will then be backed up by blended learning through the use of headphones on their Chrome books. The students will be working in small groups, this is where they thrive in their learning. Students will then be able to get more individualized attention from me because I will be able to explain how volcanos change the earth as we know it to be today. This will go hand in hand with how earthquakes have changed and shaped the earth. These two core standards parallel in perfect sequences with one another for students because they are able to understand the many transformations that the earth has gone through for thousands and thousands of years. The headphones for these students will help reinforce the key visual concepts they have been taught through the use of technology and blended learning that I have been implementing in my classroom. These will not only teach the students hands on learning, but how technology goes in sync with hands on learning.
