I have been teaching special education students for 24 years and still love it to this day. I have 41 students in grades 9-10. I have 6 autistic students, 2 other health impaired students, and the rest have varying degrees of learning disabilities but are in the mild/moderate range. Our school's students are impoverished with 72% of them receiving free/reduced breakfast/lunch through Title I monies. Despite these challenges, we are still a California Distinguished School and a Gold Ribbon School. We make sure our students get what they need to succeed thanks to our awesome donors. The tassel is worth the hassle as I like to tell my students. Graduation is the goal!!!
