If my project is fully funded, my students will have access to books on cd, and a variety of nonfiction/fiction books that will take them to destinations and on journeys they can only imagine. The book rack and book bags will hold the books on cd's in an organized manner that will make it easy for my students to access. As a newer teacher with a small book library, this project will allow students to choose a book to take home weekly to read and enjoy with their family and siblings. The chairback buddy organizers will help keep their books within close proximity with fast and easy access. Giving my students a choice in selecting the books they want to read is powerful! Allowing choices builds their confidence, cultivates a sense of value, fosters creativity, and teaches responsibility.
