The materials I have chosen will enhance the social emotional capacity of students and support their personal growth. The Teen Connect Program is therapeutic in nature and uses the 5 core competencies of CASEL (Collaborative Association for Social Emotional Learning) to guide at risk students toward making more responsible decisions and setting / achieving goals. The Teen Connect room also serves as a “cool down spot” or “ safe space” for students in crisis. We provide snacks, mindfulness activities, and a soothing environment where students can come to decompress when they feel overwhelmed by the pace of things happing at school.

About my class
