Our school is a science, mathematics, and engineering focus school. Each student benefits from lab time once a week, where students explore science and math concepts with hands-on, inquiry-based projects. The lab serves as a safe area for students to be inquisitive, take risks, and practice critical thinking. Since the lab's opening four years ago, I have noticed the language of inquiry transfer into classrooms. Students will begin sentences with, "I agree with you, but..." or "I would like to piggy-back off of what __ said." Students have been responsive to creating a community of learners that has been amazing to witness.
