In light of COVID-19, my students spent many hours at home and not in an environment where they could engage socially with their peers. Due to that, there is a much higher need for social and emotional development in my young learners. Research suggests that play is one of the best ways to develop those areas in young learners. Through the use of dramatic play items, such as the Mailbox, students will have the opportunity to pretend, write, and engage with their peers. Additionally, through the use of construction-related items, such as the Engineering Centers, students will be able to collaborate together and create designs.
