I teach 500 K-5 young engineers in their weekly S.T.E.M. (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) class. Students come to S.T.E.M. class knowing they will be engineers who will solve problems. They also begin learning how to code as well. My young engineers learn how to tackle problems by using the Engineering Design Process. They bring what they are learning in Math and Science to each challenge. They also begin to learn the basics of coding and begin to create their own programs. In addition, they are learning all about the amazing opportunities available to them in S.T.E.M. careers. With each challenge they are beginning to prepare for those careers by learning how to apply their math and science knowledge and work with each other.
