Help support the readers at the Brooklyn School for Collaborative Studies! Students at BCS work hard to read and research about the world around them. They are taught to analyze and question and critique on a daily basis. At BCS 72% of our students live in poverty and 100% of our graduating seniors each year are accepted to college. We believe being a reader opens doors and increases student’s opportunities. In order to become a better reader, students need to practice reading daily. At BCS our middle school students have a full period of reading and a full period of writing every day. Many of our students come to us reading below grade level and we work hard to make sure we have high interest books at their level to help them improve. We will fill the kindles with high interest literature that will engage our most struggling readers and help the grow.
