As the librarian at Christopher Columbus Campus in the Bronx, I serve the students and teachers at Astor Collegiate Academy, Bronxdale HS, Collegiate Institute for Math & Science, HS of Language & Innovation, and Pelham Preparatory Academy. The students of these schools are at or below the poverty level and face many challenges. My goal is to make their lives a little better by providing a nice library with books they want to read and computers to do their homework. I want to provide them with resources that will give them a chance to compete with students in well-funded schools. I'd love to be able to expose them to inspirational speakers and authors. I want them to enjoy school and become life-long learners & readers! I want them to believe in themselves and know that no matter how hopeless things may seem, they will get through it and life will get better. Most of all, I want them to know that people care.

About my class
