The materials needed for my students will have a great impact on them. Teaching a large group of students, it is hard at times for them to have their supplies, so I make sure that I have the necessary tools at all times to help them succeed. Being an English and Reading teacher I hold reading as a high standard for my students. Many of my lessons are geared towards conditioning reading and writing skills. Reading across the board (reading and writing in all subjects) is what we aim to teach our students. Books play a major role in my classroom; especially in our Accelerated Reading Program. Technology also plays a key factor in my students testing, lesson activities, and reading. Headphones will help many of my learners who must use audio when taking tests or participating in lesson activities. Unfortunately, many of my students lack the funds to acquire basic school supplies. Simple supplies such as highlighters, pencils, erasers, and loose leaf are greatly needed.
