I have a wonderful mainstream class of 25 third grade students, which consists of both special education and regular education students. My students have a variety of needs and learning abilities and have a thirst for reading. My students lives have been impacted by, and continue to feel the effects of, Hurricane Sandy, yet they are still eager to learn as they enter the classroom every morning. They come from varied socio-economic backgrounds. Typically our school provides the children with the supplies they need to be successful, but this is becoming more difficult with each passing year.
