A puppet station will be the perfect addition to our classroom! Puppets are like magic for children! They are exciting and fun! The puppet theater and puppets will capture the attention and ignite the imagination of my students. Children are naturally encouraged to speak when they are playing with puppets, therefore giving them a voice and the role of a creator. Puppet theaters can help make learning less threatening for shy or special needs students. My students will develop characters, read and write scripts, and retell favorite stories. In addition, manipulating puppets develop gross and fine motor skills! The play puppet theater will be the hub of our dramatic play area. It will serve many functions. When it is not being used for puppet shows, it will become a diner, an ice cream shop, the local grocery store, and maybe even a flower shop!
