I am one of two speech language pathologists in my school. We know that literacy is a building block for so many essential skills so I work hard to implement books into my lessons. Students learn well when they are able to be involved and hands-on. Therefore, students often participate in learning with sensory items and manipulatives that involve what they are learning. These materials will provide new and enriching activities for the next semester. Some of these materials will be used for the hands on portion that relates books, like a racetrack, stickers, crafting, or magnets. While other items will be used to support parents to practice these new skills with their children. Every contribution makes a difference to support early childhood speech and language development!
