I am a second grade teacher at a high poverty school in Newport News, Virginia. My students are bright, kind, and deserving of the best education possible. This requires my students to have access to a wide range of materials in literacy, mathematics, science and social studies. It also requires my students to have constant access to hands on materials, books, and technology. This access requires significant financial resources, and these resources are not easy to come by. Try as I might, there is only so much of my own money I can put back into my classroom. That is why I am so thankful for DonorsChoose! This site opens up a whole new world of possibilities for myself and my students! Donors like you make it possible for my students to have the same opportunities as students in more affluent areas with more readily available resources! You are making a significant difference in the lives of my students. Thank you!
