We need a timer, writing prompts, post-it notes and journals, pencils, erasers and dry erase markers to further support their understanding of math, reading, science and social studies concepts taught in class. The supplies requested are needed to carry out everyday lessons. For example, using dry erase paddles will support all students in sharing ideas during classroom discussions. Also, the use of composition notebooks will allow my students to write about their daily life experiences. Furthermore, providing my students with large "Post-its" will give them opportunities to annotate thoughts and ideas about fiction and nonfiction text. Explaining one's thinking and locating evidence from a story are vital skills needed in 2nd grade. Post-its are small yet effective materials used to achieve these goals. Making a donation to my class will provide all students with the materials they will need to succeed in 2nd grade!
