Magic Happens Here is my class theme! My high school students enrolled in SDC Moderate/Severe Functional Academic Program are learning to cook, paint, sew, groom- hygiene toileting, laundry, grocery shopping, and participate in Community Based Instruction. I assist them to transition to young independent program, help them to get employment as per ability. Students need ipad and wireless headphones to work on communication software, learn the use of Internet and emailing as well as search important information. They are visual and ASL learners so each chore requires graphic task analysis for effective learning. I buy lot of markers and paper tools to best demonstrate the lesson, teach simple yoga, music and dance exercise as a stress reliever for all. Currently they are learning vocational skills, ceramics, painting, use of technology and visit various stores for possible job opportunity.
