These materials will be used to store and organize the graduating student's transition portfolio. These portfolios are very important after high school. They contain helpful guides, important information, and almost every single transition activity they have ever done. What is a transition activity? This can be anything from surveys, questionnaires, self-advocacy skill building to personal research into a better understanding of his or her own disability. By the time students graduate, they have put in a lot thought and research into what careers or college degrees that they may want to pursue. This information is often lost as students lose access to their school google drive and email where most of this hard work is stored. Students need this information after high school, but often lose it. I have come across many different students in the past that had to come back to hunt down their own paperwork (IEP - Individual Education Plan, Psycho-educational Assessment, and Academic Assessment Report). Colleges require these documents in order for students to receive accommodations (supports) for their disability. Even some places of work may require this documentation as evidence of their disability. By providing it in an organized manner, it will be easier for the student to keep track and access this information.
