If you give a preschooler a nap cot... they will be able to take thier nap without fear of sleeping on the floor where all the germs are. My school district used to supply us with nap mats for the students to sleep on, but they have since stopped supplying us. Now, either I have to use my Title 1 money to buy 20 or ask my low SES parents to pay for them. Theses cots will be able to be reused year after year so all my kids, this year and years to come, can sleep easy! The majority of kids who come into my classroom are sleep deprived. Their bodies NEED sleep to function and learn. Being able to give them a clean, safe cot to sleep on will help their bodies to calm down and be able to sleep good. Knowing that they are sleeping up and off the floor will ease my mind of how many germ they could be laying on.
