As a K-2 teacher, I am responsible for providing a strong foundation for my students' future education. The incorporation of technology into education has become pretty much an essential need. With the additional iPads, my students will be able to explore reading and literacy in a whole new way. The latest IOS 11 update now offers students the ability to listen to online articles that they may not be able to read completely. This ability to listen to reading will help to boost their reading fluency and extend their vocabulary skills. With these essential skills being built the students' enjoyment and enthusiasm for reading will soar. The additional technology will also allow my students to experience the world outside of our classroom door in a safe and secure environment. I want to expose my students to the wonders of the world and all of the amazing things that are out there through the use of virtual field trips. It is important that while teaching the standards to my students that I also encourage and inspire them to follow their dreams and reach for what they really want. With the help from Apple coding technology, my students can learn how math and computers go together. Most students in grades Kindergarten to 2nd grade find it difficult to explain their thinking and put it down on paper. My students will be able to use the clips feature to record themselves explaining their thinking about how they solved a problem. It may seem like 2 iPads will not make a sufficient difference in a class of 30 students. When the students know that they have the stability in their technology and that no matter what, every day they show up it will be there they will rush in and be ready to learn.
