Running student publications is hard. Often, they are the largest, student-led businesses on campus. To do that, we need the right tools. Currently, our publications have a need for pop-up background stand and a variety of chroma-key and muslin fabric backgrounds to learn the principles of portrait photography, take pictures for the yearbook and newspaper, and give back to the school with projects requested by clubs, organizations and administration as needed. Every student needs practical experience for real-world skills. This is a growing and profitable field that students can do right out of high school with the right training. In addition to the newspaper and yearbook staffs, this project will go a long way in teaching future photographers about portrait photography. Currently, I can only talk about it in theory and then move on without having any practical experience.
