I have the privilege of teaching a diverse group of high school science students while also coaching boys and girls wrestling. Although each student is unique, they all want to feel safe, respected, included, and valued at the end of the day. Like most teenagers, they are balancing friendships, communication, mental health, and the challenges of growing up. Beneath their independence and occasional attitude is a genuine desire to connect with their peers, teachers, and what they are learning. My classroom has become a place where students feel they belong, with many current and former students choosing to eat lunch there every day. They crave engaging, hands on experiences that prepare them for life beyond high school with real world skills and confidence. My goal is to create a classroom and high school experience where every student and athlete feels seen, challenged, and empowered to succeed in school and in life.

About my class
