My large class sizes and small class room creates space constraints and make my art room uncomfortable. I have an exterior door that leads directly to a concrete patio. It’s perfect for an extended learning space. Picnic tables (provided by local donors), outdoor storage benches, and sun shades would give our department (3 visual art teachers!) a flexible outdoor space to use for experimenting with dying fabrics, outdoor painting, atmospheric firing of ceramics, using spray paint, and so much more! Having the seating would allow me to split my large class in half and allow for rotation between stations. Advanced students have asked about sprucing up the space and I think it’s time!
