My students are 3rd graders from Moore, Oklahoma. More than 50% of our students receive free and reduced meals, and many take food "backpacks" home for the weekend. Our students are faithful in attendance and hard working. Many of our students come from single parent homes, and most parents work outside of the home and are not available to help at school or provide extra help at home. Parents are supportive but, typically, are unable to help financially and rely on the classroom teacher to give their children what they need academically. Using dictionaries on a daily basis helps create strong vocabulary in students. Thank you for your consideration.
