My classroom is the English side of Portuguese Dual Immersion. We are in our first year of dual immersion in third grade at our school. I am impressed with my 48 students and how well they have learned Portuguese in one year! Language arts curriculum is taught in my class. We spend the majority of our day learning new vocabulary, comprehension skills, grammar and writing. The time they enjoy and learn the most is when they are teaching one another. We would love to have the technology for them to be able to do this more! They are also avid readers. They have set reading goals and are trying to achieve individual goals using the 7 Habits of Highly Effective Kids.
