Students that are autistic work better while on a schedule! Our class runs on a strict visual schedule. Each morning starts off with the students checking their schedule. Everyone starts the day with sign in, then breakfast, next morning group and then we break off into stations. Some students go to direct instruction, some go to independent work, while others have computer work. Since we are down a computer, it is causing much frustration and anxiety for my students because they are unable to follow the schedule for computer time. This laptop will help teach my students new skills. My non-verbal students will be able to continue communicating through the laptop and my other students will be able to continue using their computer programs which teach them reading skills.
