My students were all put into my classes because they either failed Spanish before, have an Individual Education Plan/504 Plan or have succumbed to the mentality that they just "aren't good at language". As a Spanish teacher I truly believe each and every student can learn Spanish and that these students should NOT allow other people's expectations or even their own to get in their way. Far too often my students just accept the mentality of failure. This is unacceptable and by getting them these whiteboards I hope they realize they can't just check-out, that I care enough to ensure that each and every student understands a concept before we move on. As I've learned more about them I know they want to learn too. They just need someone who cares enough to hear them.
