Our campus is brand new, and full of energetic junior high students and teachers. Students in my class are learning about different Spanish-speaking cultures, but find themselves without a real student identity. Our student body is making that difficult adjustment of learning a new school, meeting new teachers, and making new friends. As we continue our study of cultures, we are learning that art is often the medium used to represent the beautiful similarities and differences in a single group of people. Our students desperately need to feel that they belong, and the creation of a school "culture mural" that represents all facets of our student body would have a stunningly unifying effect.

About my class
