There are 21 bright, energetic, and enthusiastic learners in my general education classroom. They all have varying abilities and learning styles, but they all have great potential and untapped abilities that will make them great leaders. Among them are three students who are performing at a very high level and already reading at the middle of first grade level. However, there are six students with special learning needs who are still reading below grade level. These students need guided reading instruction every day, which is hardly possible. Therefore, the tablets would help to provide the instruction on those days when the teacher has to be with the other groups. The Imagine Math Facts app would also give these students access on a more regular basis to practice and strengthen their addition and subtraction facts. Other educational apps such as Starfall and ABCYA would definitely help my students to improve.
