My students work hard to complete assignments to earn good grades; to move forward without falling behind. Each of my students has overcome obstacles in their personal life, from helping the parents with their younger siblings with their homework to dealing with financial issues. The students come to school with family responsibilities on their minds which are very difficult to put aside to think about the future. They have to put aside personal challenges and follow through with the responsibility of earning their education. I am so proud of them for taking their first steps to build a better future. They have learned to become young adults with a great sense of humor and positive thinking. All of them have chosen to continue with their education. The journey has been an honor. There is no doubt in my mind I will be there for them if they need me.
