This is my fifth year as the librarian at Robison Middle School. My main focus the first few years has been the physical collection, but now I am looking to rebuild the computer area for our students. Although we were a 1-1 iPad school, we moved away from that because each year we had more and more students who did not have parental permission to bring the iPad home. Many kids come throughout the day looking to use one of the 8 working computers in the library. I'd like to bring that number up to this year by adding 12 Chromebooks- 6 that I will purchase with library funds and 6 that I hope to fundraise. If I can add a few more each year, over time I'd like to have a class set of 40. As I visit other middle school libraries I see the disparity among programs for this particular age group. My hope is to create a true Robison BiblioTech that will help ensure equity as we develop 21st Century skills among our kids.
