I am fortunate to be able to say that my classroom is made up of all the students in our school. They get to come to me once a week for art. I teach a wide variety of learners from all different walks of life. It is important to me to help them ALL make real world connections in my classroom. Our school is a wonderful place and the longer I teach here the more passionate I become about making my classroom an awesome place for children to learn about the world around them. However teaching in an art classroom has it's challenges because the budget is tight and there is not much room for extras. My students are very young so they are easily motivated by hands on activities. Having magnetic shapes centers in our art room would enhance their learning tremendously. They are always excited about getting to use what few magnets that we have.
