With these donations, my second graders will be introduced to the idea of being great scientists, observers, inventors, and transformers. With these science kits, my scholars will have experience with hands on laboratory investigations. These tools will help build their foundation and knowledge of science and prepare them for future science courses such as biology, chemistry, physics, environmental science, etc. Additionally, students will be able to easily acquire the terminology needed to be successful in future science career opportunities. The digital camera will allow our classroom to capture our observations assisting in clear analysis and descriptions of our discoveries during science lab investigations. The Spanish/Bilingual books will be great resources to add to our Dual-Language second grade classroom library. Currently our classroom holds 50 Spanish/bilingual books for 26 students, making it challenging to work on our Spanish phonics, fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension skills.
