The next step for technology in education is to foster and enhance memorable moments in school, get teens excited to learn, and make students feel invested in their education. In time, there will only be more technology saturation, more tech-literate kids, and more opportunities to use tech in the classroom. These Chromebooks will make that a reality. The goal of this Donorschoose project is to give every student an equitable chance to learn, by making sure every student has access to technology. My students have access to a lot of amazing experiences and ways to express themselves creatively, but I want to make sure that every student gets the same opportunity to have a shot at a 21st century education. Almost half of my campus qualifies for free and reduced lunch, so having access to school provided technology is the only way some of these kids will ever learn those skills needed for future jobs/opportunities.
