We will be combining this with our units as independent reading in the classroom. Our students have a great love for Lois Lowry and we want to include some high interest novels in the curriculum. These materials will assist both English I teachers in having a classroom novel that can be read in addition to the novels in our state mandated curriculum. These novels will help our students foster a love of reading by giving them a high interest novel to enhance what is required. Our students are unable to purchase novels to bring with them to class. Some schools can require novel purchases or collect money for novels, but our students are unable to pay that fee.
