These books will give the majority of my students a chance to be represented in the books they read and to be able to connect with them. My classroom library and school library are lacking in Latino authors. Many of my students feel left out and struggle to find books that are relatable to their lives. I believe it is extremely important that students have access to books that they relate to. These books will give them a chance to feel pride for their heritage and allow them to connect with the literature they read.
