My 1st grade students are working hard on fundamental early literacy, communication, collaboration, and math skills. They flourish when provided with rich experiences and materials. We are an International Baccalaureate School implementing the Primary Years Programme that strives to educate the whole child and provide each student with a global perspective and prepare them to be successful in an ever-changing, global world. My students study concepts that allow them to create, think, explore, wonder, make connections, collaborate, share, and appreciate a variety of perspectives. My school is an urban school with just over 700 students in preschool through 5th grade. It is composed of approximately 80% minority students, 30% second language learners and 80% of students qualify for free or reduced price lunch, so any resources we can acquire are greatly appreciated!
