It's difficult for students to complete assignments when they do not have basic school supplies. I want students to focus on the assignment at hand rather than worrying about having crayons or pencils in their backpacks. (For example, on the first day of school, students made an "All About Me" page. When it was time to use crayons, I saw many sad faces of kids who couldn't complete the assignment without borrowing from me or another student.) Having these supplies at the ready ensures that each child has a fair shot at completing their daily assignments. This may not seem like a "flashy" project, but it's essential for their future education. Having these every day materials would truly be a gift for students who need them. We would all be so very grateful. Thank you!
