Many of my students enter my 7th and 8th grade ELA class claiming that they "hate" reading. When I show them graphic novels like Dog-Man or Big Nate, they tell me it's "not a reading." I tell them that they're wrong! Any type of reading is good reading. I really hope that my students can develop a love for reading through mangas, comics, cartoons, and graphic novels which will capture their attention. My students love drawing and will enjoy a great visual that goes along with what they are reading. Please help me gift the love of reading by planting the seeds of interest through the use of graphic novels.
