My students will greatly benefit from learning hydroponic food growing methods to remedy their state of living in a Food Desert. Students will work as teams growing fruits and vegetables that will be easily accessible to the School community. The Food Desert Oasis will be in the hands of the students to create and maintain. The students will learn STEM techniques that can become careers goals. This project will create a food source and help to solve childhood hunger and improve nutritional habits. These resources will make a difference for my students because they will take ownership of solving social problems in their own community.
