Aloha! My name is Mrs. Nichols. I teach at a Title I school and am in my 14th year of teaching. I have taught grades 1, 2, 3, and 4 as a classroom teacher. This year, I am currently the school's first music teacher of a newly established department (which includes the arts and P.E.) in hopes of delivering a more holistic education for our children. I teach music to the kids in PreK/HeadStart to 6th graders, including a fully-self contained class of students with autism. I believe teaching music is just as important as teaching reading and math. It leads children to self-discovery and the opportunity of being successful at something in school. Students remember the fun experiences they had in school even later in their lives! That's is why I have always believed in making learning fun! While our students may be disadvantaged, I know our students can be successful if we first give them the opportunity to succeed.
