My students are in need of small playground supplies so that they can get a break in their rigorous school day. They can return to class focused and ready to learn. Physical activity is needed for any person to be healthy and their best self during the day. Recess is a break in the day for maximizing a child’s social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development. Our school playground is very small. We typically have all (150) 5th graders out at one time. We have a small, fenced-in playground and 1 basketball hoop. Unless a student brings recess activities from home, they have nothing to play with. We are hoping to receive basketballs, soccer balls, kickballs, etc. These things will help students engage with one another, promote teamwork, and make recess more enjoyable. Please help my students with outdoor equipment, so their recess time will be more interactive and fun!
