We like to start each day with a Morning Meeting, gathered on the carpet, preparing for our day while working on social skills. Sitting together builds a sense of community & family in our class. Many of my students also have sensory needs and sitting in a hard plastic chair all day is difficult. I allow the kids multiple seating options and working on the carpet helps them to calm down and focus. STEAM projects are great opportunities for creativity! We have weekly Art lessons and new watercolor sets will unleash their imagination, individuality and artistic expression. Art provides my students a safe and unique way to explore their feelings, express emotions and appreciate the beauty around them.
