My creative and energetic students are in 4th-6th grade at a low income urban school. These inspiring students come to my resource room for word study, reading, writing, and math. In our small group setting, we have developed a strong classroom community that allows students to support and encourage one another to succeed. The small group setting allows us to target specific student needs and create individual lessons that push students to reach their full potential. These hardworking students learn best from hands-on activities because it allows them to make abstract ideas concrete. My determined diverse learners have many unique learning needs and benefit from learning information when it is presented in multiple ways. I create lessons and activities that allow them to move around and build social skills by working with a partner or a small group. Additionally, my students with IEP's have specific learning needs that will be better met with the implementation of these materials.
