I have 17 wonderful students K-5 who have been diagnosed with Autism or an Emotional Behavioral Disorder. Each of my students has a unique personality and varied needs. Many of my students are movers and shakers; we don't spend very much time sitting at a table to learn, but rather learn through experiences. Our school is growing to over 400 students and we are out of space, so all of my classroom and often parts of the hallway are utilized for learning. Our school is in a rural area of Northern Minnesota and has a high population of students on free and reduced lunch. With the sudden addition of new teachers and classrooms this year, our classroom budgets have been slashed to help meet the needs of students. This has left many of us trying to self-fund needed manipulatives and supplies for our classrooms.
