Students will improve their reading skills by engaging in non-fictional topics that are interesting and relevant to them. They are so eager to read and learn! Each issue brings a seasonal science or social studies topic to life with exciting colorful, real-world photos! Using simple, predictable texts, the magazines will build fundamental reading skills like concepts of print, sight words, and phonics. Scholastic features BIG issues, posters, and interactive online features. Acquiring the magazines for kindergarten, first, second and third will help me differentiate and let students be challenged. Best of all it will give my students something new to look forward as a new magazine will arrive each week!
