By providing basic necessities to our students, we will be increasing their self-esteem in and out of school. Our kids should not need to worry about when they will eat or if they access to personal hygiene products. Through this Secret Pantry, we hope to allow our students to be able to focus on their academic goals, rather than outside stresses. For our project, we need shelves and bins to organize and store our supplies. We also are requesting easy to eat and non-perishable food items such as canned soup, granola bars, macaroni and cheese, and other snack items. We have a variety of food items that kids could have as a quick snack on the spot, and other items that they can take home with them to cook for dinner. We also need hygiene items such as deodorant, shampoo, toothbrushes and toothpaste. These simple items will help our students to feel comfortable at school and at home. We also aim to keep our pantry a secret, so that students can reach out to us and get what they need without any feelings of shame or embarrassment. We are a group of teachers who are dedicated to servicing our students and helping them as much as we can in a dignified way. Thank you in advance for your consideration and donation to our project.
