These magazines would help my students improve their non-fiction reading skills. In order to grow caring Global Citizens, children need to be exposed to events from around the world at an early age. These magazines will expose students to current events happening around the world, introduce them to some history and science, and social studies and civics. For some students these stories may bring memories of their homeland whole for others it will introduce them to the wonders of the world. We will use these magazines for shared reading, and independent reading. It would provide time to practice Turn and Take skills while engaged in real life discussions. We would use these stories to determine main idea with supporting details. It will provide an opportunity to improve reading comprehension skills
