My name is Scarlett May. I am elated to teach in Mecklenburg County. I initially taught at an exclusive school in the Metro Charlotte area. My previous experience entailed working with high school age students diagnosed on the ASD spectrum with co-morbid disabilities. I am personally invested in this population, as I have life experience supporting my parents and siblings living with diagnosed disabilities. Every student deserves access to individualized instructional material(s) and instructional delivery to best meet his or her needs. My goal is to build upon pre-existing strengths and nurture an environment conducive to academic and functional achievement(s). All students are educable. I would like to best supplement instruction with 5 Kindle Fires and/or IPads (cheaper route would be Kindles!). I currently teach and serve as an advocate for my population at Joseph W Grier Elementary. I am an Elem. EC, AU Teacher.
