My students are my greatest joy. I have twenty-four of the most respectful, appreciative, and responsible second graders this year. We spend our days in a warm and loving environment where we support and encourage each other. We start the day with what we call a morning meeting where we greet each other, share about our lives, and engage in team building activities. Our students are hard at work learning the necessary skills for fluent reading, adding and subtraction, our government and community, and foundational skills like making observations, sorting objects based on properties, changes in matter, and life cycles. Our school is very community oriented and the children thrive in a learning community where children of all ages interact together regularly.
